Today we reviewed the strengths and limitations of our model of the atom and came up with a chart for our notes like this (copy this into your notes if you weren't here):
STRENGTHS (THINGS THAT ARE ACCURATE):
- shows charges
- shows energy levels of e-
- shows protons, electrons, and neutrons and relative locations of each
LIMITATIONS (INACCURACIES)
- size and scale of atom not appropriately shown
- e-s aren't moving
Then we played a game outside making "human atoms" and identifying the correct number and location of the subatomic particles of various elements (no makeup necessary for this).
